Dishwashers
Washing dishes is easily one of the most detested chores around the house. After eating a delicious meal no one wants go back into the kitchen to clean it all up, especially having stand in front of the sink washing and drying all of the utensils and cookware. Cleaning up after one or two people isn't so bad, but cleaning up for a family or guests can really add to the job.
We have been enjoying the benefits of cooked food since the days of cavemen but the safety and convieniece of indoor cooking is where the stove shines. Open fire cooking is dangerous, produces too much smoke and is low in effienciency. Modern day stoves combat all of this by providing high effiency electric or natural gas elements that make cooking food easy.
Dishwashers were invented to make cleaning up after eating simpler and less time consuming. Just load the cutlery and dishware into the dishwasher, hit the start button and relax while the machine does the work.
Dishwashers work by spraying hot water, often mixed with a strong detergent onto the dishes. Depending on the quality of dishwasher some will have multiple jets and cycles and some are able to use chemical rinse aids to help with the process. The high pressure water jets work to loosen and remove any food particles stuck to the dishes and the high temperature of the water helps to disinfect and clean the surfaces. Many dishwasher units also have the ability to heat the dishware after the wash has finished in order to speed up the drying time.
When shopping for a dishwasher it is important to find a unit with enough capacity to support family. Obviously a small unit would work well for a single person or a couple but when washing dishes for full size families and guests it is important to seek out a unit with a large capacity. If you use a lot of large pots or pans make sure that you find a unit with enough internal space to support their space requirements.
There are two main types of dishwashers to consider when shopping and the decision should be based entirely on the space available in your kitchen. Both portable and permanent dishwashers are available and both have their own benefits. For smaller kitchens or for kitchens without the space to accommodate a standard dishwasher a portable unit will suffice however it may not have a large capacity and moving it around will add inconvience.
Newer dishwashers have features that come with a cost but appeal to many consumers. Look for units that have good sound dampening capabilities so that the noise they produce is minimal. Some units have garbage disposing abilities that greatly increase the amount of leftover food they are able to handle. Higher end units will also have smarter cleaning settings that enable the dishwasher to detect the amount of dishes that are inside and can work more effieceitnytl at cleaning. Also consider a unit with an LCD display that can show how much time remains in the dishwashing cycle.
Look for the unit that will fit your lifestyle needs the best and try to find one that is energy efficient.
